Cisco Bug: CSCup56612 - "malloc:786444:Not enough space Error" on DPE during download

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Broadband Access Center for Telco and Wireless

Known Affected Releases

1.8(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
DPE was throwing malloc errors during download due to lack of native memory

Conditions:
Berkeley DB cache is configured to consume 500 MB of total native memory. When download tests were running at the rate of 25 MB/sec, Berkeley DB cache was trying to grow beyond the allocated 500 MB thereby causing the malloc errors. This issue seems to be specific to 32 bit Solaris and not seen on Linux. This is more likely to be a Berkeley DB issue and we have opened a support case with Oracle.
