Cisco Bug: CSCup51270 - WLAN doesn't pass traffic when using VLAN number - Must use VLAN name

Last Modified

Jun 26, 2014

Products (1)

  • Cisco 5700 Series Wireless LAN Controllers

Known Affected Releases

10.3(0.49)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Clients are not receiving an IP address or they are not passing layer 2 authentication.

Conditions:
Device: 3650, 3850, 5760
Versions: 3.3.1, 3.3.2, 3.3.3

If the WLAN is configured through the CLI and the client VLAN is configured using the VLAN number and not the VLAN name the WLAN will not pass traffic.

One indication of this is in the GUI the WLAN >General > Interface/Interface Group(G) option will show as a text box where you can type in. This is supposed to be a drop down box where all the VLAN names are already populated.
