Cisco Bug: CSCup50242 - Insertion or update that exceeds the "optimal document" size

Last Modified

Nov 17, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Policy Suite for Mobile

Known Affected Releases

5.2.0

Description (partial)

Symptom:
In Mongo balance_mgmt DB Mongo documents have been seen with sizes in excess of 4M bytes. These large documents have caused problems with QNS since it appears they impact the speed at which the sessionmgr's can process requests. This in turns impacts the entire QNS causing issues with the ability of the IO managers and QNS servers to process traffic.

The Mongo documents seem to have grown large due to the behavior of the customer portal which was sending thousands of provisionSubscriberRequests per a single subscriber. These provisionSubscriberRequest caused thousands of credits to be added to the subscriber document which caused the document to grow excessively large.

Conditions:
QNS 5.2.7 (but I don't believe there is "optimal document" size threshold in any version of QNS/QPS)
