Cisco Bug: CSCup25215 - Raise a fault if P,V limit is about to hit and also when it is hit

Last Modified

Feb 19, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Computing System

Known Affected Releases

2.2(1b)A 2.2(2.132)A

Description (partial)

Symptom:
In some conditions a vethernet can get stuck on Initializing or traffic to a particular endpoint may stop as MAC address is not learned properly. The reason for these conditions may not be clear to the UCS admin reading the Event or Fault logs. The purpose of this enhancement is to improve the notification of this condition not only when the problem is encountered, but proactively when the configuration takes the system close to the threshold.

Conditions:
In certain configurations a UCS domain may end up with a number of lif-vlan membership hashing entries that goes beyond the 16K entry limit supported on a single ASIC.
