Last Modified

Sep 16, 2014

Products (3)

  • Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS)
  • Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server Model
  • Cisco Expressway

Known Affected Releases

X8.1.1

Description (partial)

Symptom:
In the ''Cisco TelePresence Microsoft Lync and Cisco VCS Deployment Guide", the following sections are not clear for customers and could use re-phrasing:

-- Microsoft Mediation Server (p65), the following sentence is confusing and incomplete:

Configure the "Lync gateway" VCS with a second zone to connect to the Lync Server. Select the Custom zone profile and configure the options as listed below and then configure one or more search rules so that calls destined for the mediation server are routed to this zone rather than to the standard ?To Microsoft Lync Server via B2BUA" zone.

Suggested update:

Configure the "Lync gateway" VCS with a second zone to connect to the Lync Server. For this, create a new neighbor zone, and select the Custom zone profile when created. Then configure the options as listed below and configure one or more search rules (with a higher priority) so that calls destined for the mediation server are routed to this zone rather than to the standard "To Microsoft Lync Server via B2BUA" zone.

In addition, change the "On successful match" parameter on the existing search rule "To Microsoft Lync Server via B2BUA" from ''stop" to "continue", in order for the new rule to be a potential match.

-- Video network: VCS Control configuration (p22), the section is confusing:

The guide implies configuring the VCS Lync Gateway server(s), though this very first step is actually to be performed on the VCS Control instead. This is confusing and can be stated more clearly.
