Symptom: The Phone Load Name cannot be added through CUCDM. Manually add the Phone Load Name in the CUCM/Phone Device after CUCDM builds the device in CUCM. This name should appear as the same name that is loaded in Device/Defaults with the .SPA extension. Customers are expect this process can be done through CUCDM instead of manually do it through CUCM. Conditions: The following steps outline the process you must follow to configure a CTS-500-32 device: 1. The appropriate image for the CTS-500-32 must be uploaded or installed to CUCM manually in OS Administration/Software Upgrades as the first step. Failure to do this may result in configuration issues. The correct image is listed in the Compatibility Matrix for Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution document. Navigate to Install/Upgrades, select Remote File System and enter the appropriate server/login information. Download and install the file. 2. In CUCM, navigate to Device/Device Defaults and enter the Load Information for the CTS500-32. If the installation program did not update the load information, be sure to update it. 3. Build the CTS codec in CUCDM : a. The standard SIP profile with BFCP can be used for the CTS-500-32 b. Build the CTS-500-32 device and line. Use the correct Location and Device Pool. c. The Phone Load Name cannot be added through CUCDM. Manually add the Phone Load Name in the CUCM/Phone Device after CUCDM builds the device in CUCM. This name should appear as the same name that is loaded in Device/Defaults with the .SPA extension. 4. Build the phone device to be used with the codec: a. Ensure the headset and speaker phone are set to Disabled on the phone device or Midlet failure will occur b. Add the same line that was added to the codec for a shared line appearance. 5. Create a Midlet in CUCDM through IPPBX/IP Phone Services/Add. Subscribe to the Midlet through Phone Management/IP Phone Services/Manage IP Phone Service Subscriptions. The Feature must be active in feature services. A step-by-step procedure follows: a. Navigate to Network/PBX devices in CUCDM and select the correct CUCM b. Under the CCM Cluster Management page, select IP Phone Services c. Select either Add to add a new service, or, if the service already exists in CUCM, select Import from CUCM d. Navigate to Location Administration/Phone Management in CUCDM and select the phone device that is used with the CTS-500-32 codec. e. Scroll down the page to locate the IP Phone Services button. f. On the Manage IP Phone Service Subscriptions page, click the Subscribe button for the service that was either imported or added in IP Phone Services. 6.
