Cisco Bug: CSCuo91551 - 7962 issue with encoding Norwegian characters for XML services

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified IP Phone 7900 Series

Known Affected Releases

none

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The 7962 is hardcoded as UTF-8 per the XML query string parameters, but hard-coded for ISO-88951-1 encoding in the web pages, with the xml objects, regardless of what charset is configured. 7962 should follow the charset configured for the (ASP) web pages.

This doesn't happen with 7921 device and works as expected. Both 7921 and 7962 are using Norwegian user Locale.

Conditions:
XML query string to ASP web pages works well with 7921 (tested) using Norwegian user locale.

Based on the testing there are 2 issues with the 7962:
1.	Seems like the web pages are "hardcoded" to iso-8859-1. Setting the charset for the web pages doesn't seems to change anything.
2.	Seems like the query string parameters are "hardcoded" to utf-8. Should follow the charset configured for the web page.
