Cisco Bug: CSCuo89971 - ELC: Queue stuck ESI link permanantly back pressured (refix CSCun01920)

Last Modified

Apr 18, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

15.3(3)S

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The link status shows up/up but no traffic is forwarded out of the port. The 'packets input' may be incrementing but 'packets output' counter does not change in problem state. Traffic can stop on all Ports of the Ethernet Linecard after sometime.

Conditions:
The issue is related to MCAST packets getting stuck. Gradually the queue builds up and once it reaches a certain threshold the queue gets wedged and all forwarding stops.

The problem occurs only with ASR1000-6TGE/ASR1000-2T+20X1GE if any of the 1G/10G ports have egress Multicast MAC traffic.
