Cisco Bug: CSCuo86478 - WLC Set Wrong DHCP Relay Agent for Layer-2 Roaming
Nov 19, 2018
- Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controllers
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: During client Layer 2 roaming, the new WLC uses the old WLC's dynamic interface IP as relay agent IP address, not its own local dynamic interface IP address. That cause DHCP offer/ACK messages come back to the old WLC and the new WLC did not get any. The new WLC will only use its local dynamic interface IP correctly until the DHCP retry counts exceeds and it resets the DHCP server. DHCP works successfully later but there is 18 to 28 second gap. The client may or may not lose connectivity during that gap period, depending on client behavior. Conditions: WLC 220.127.116.11.
