Cisco Bug: CSCuo73751 - End device not able to communicate with zoned device after port link up
Jun 19, 2018
- Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: An end device cannot communicate with another device it is zoned with after the end device port comes online. The issue occurs intermittently. The following counters for an affected end device port increment on a MDS 9710:
`show hardware internal statistics module-all pktflow dropped` ... ID Name Value Ports -- ---- ----- ----- 16 F16_IPA_DROP_CNT 0000000000000006 1-8 - 114 F16_IQM_DVOQ0_PKTDROP_CNT 0000000000000006 1-4 - ... ID Name Value Ports -- ---- ----- ----- 29 F16_IAD_DROP_FCNT 0000000000000006 1-8 - 33 F16_IAD_ADJDRP_FCNT 0000000000000006 1-8 -
Conditions: This issue may occur in all NX-OS releases for MDS 9222i, 9506, 9509, 9513 and 9710 switches only. Further, this issue only applies when the end device is connected to an F port which has port mode "auto". Since the default port mode on an DS-X9448-768K9 module is "auto", this problem may be seen more frequently on the MDS 9710 platform with this module.
