Cisco Bug: CSCuo70315 - Wildchild: Sub-slot/Bay configs accepted on Wildchild

Last Modified

Jan 06, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

5.2.2.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Following CLI commands with keyword 'subslot' is silently accepted on a wildchild line card. No functionality impact.

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(config)#hw-module subslot 0/6/0 shutdown
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(config)#hw-module subslot 0/6/1 shutdown
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(config)#hw-module subslot 0/6/2 shutdown
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(config)#hw-module subslot 0/6/3 shutdown
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(config)#commit

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(admin-config)#hw-module profile tcam default location 0/6/0
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(admin-config)#hw-module profile tcam default location 0/6/1
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(admin-config)#hw-module profile tcam default location 0/6/2
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(admin-config)#hw-module profile tcam default location 0/6/3
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:ios(admin-config)#commit

Conditions:
The keyword subslot is intended to MPA based line cards like weapon-x or Ironman LC. Ideally 'subslot' should not be shown for LCs like Wildchild which doesn't support MPA
