Cisco Bug: CSCuo52513 - Netflow: IN_BYTES value includes 4 extra bytes per-packet
Jun 04, 2015
- Cisco Unified Computing System
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: A NetFlow collector reports 4 extra bytes per-inspected-packet in the IN_BYTES value of all flows reported for a given interface. Conditions: The defect applies to the following UCS VIC Gen 2 Products : VIC 1225, VIC 1240, VIC 1280 only. Doesn't apply to any VIC Gen 3 product, including UCS VIC 1380, 1340. A NetFlow session is applied in the Host Transmit Direction to a vNIC object, or to a port profile object. Conversely, NetFlow sessions applied in the Host Receive Direction are not affected by this bug. A vNIC instance, or a VM interface in a VM-FEX deployment, with a NetFlow session associated in the Host Transmit Direction, thus corresponding to a given ifIndex value of the INPUT_SNMP field, may or may not manifest the symptom. When a vNIC instance manifests the symptom, the vNIC typically manifests the symptom since the time it is added to the service profile associated to a server, until the service profile is modified. In particular, the vNIC continues to manifest the symptom across server power cycle events. When a VM interface in a VM-FEX deployment manifests the symptom, typically it manifests the symptom for as long as the VM remains running on the same physical server. In particular, the VM interface continues to manifest the symptom across VM power cycle events.
