DCC Technique 4 may fail when a modem is moved (DS-only, no US move) from a group of four QAMs to some other group of four or more QAMs within the same port in a DS384. The failure will be due to Timing Offset, wherein the Timing Offset of the modem in a group of four QAMs will differ from other QAMs within the same port on the DS384 by well over 10 ticks [10x(1/10.24MHz) = 976.56ns]. In order for DCC Tech 4 to be successful, the Timing Offset must be no more than 10 ticks between the old DS and the new DS. The less the Timing Offset difference between the old DS and the new DS, the better.
