Conditions: (1) configuring the bundle maximum-active links feature on a bundle-ether port. on ASR9K side. (2) the remote end is a pure layer 2 switch port configured as a trunk port with no bundle or LACP enabled. (3) ASR9K side has two bundle-ether ports part of the same bridge domain and forwarding traffic for same VLANs. Both bundle-ether ports terminating on a "dumb"layer 2 switchport configured as trunk with no LACP enabled or any bundling capability.
