Cisco Bug: CSCuo33943 - 15.3M IOS SSLVPN with VIF on an HSRP pair fails to install route

Last Modified

  • Cisco 2600 Series Multiservice Platforms

Known Affected Releases

15.3(3)M

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When an AnyConnect client establishes an SSLVPN session with the gateway, it is unable to access any resources over the established SSL tunnel. On the WebVPN gateway Router, during the client connection, we observe the following error message:
IPRT-6-STATICROUTESACROSSTOPO Cannot install inter-topology static route 172.21.236.11/32 topology base on outgoing interface Virtual-Access2

Conditions:
1) Configure a pair of Cisco Routers in HSRP and configure the router as SSLVON Gateway, without configuring a Virtual-template. Here SSLVPN VIF will spawn virtual-access interfaces for each AnyConnect sessions.
2) The AnyConnect pool being used is a subset of some already known IP subnet present in the routing table of the router.
For eg.,
Pool = 10.1.1.0/24
Router LAN = 10.0.0.0/8
