Last Modified

Apr 19, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls

Known Affected Releases

9.1(5)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
ASA generates multiple IKEv2 CREATE_CHILD_SA for the same traffic selectors due to misconfiguration.

Conditions:
An example of misconfiguration would be something like this:

 crypto map CRYPTO_MAP 5 match address PROXY_ACL
 crypto map CRYPTO_MAP 5 set ikev2 ipsec-proposal ESP_AES_SHA
 crypto map CRYPTO_MAP 10 match address PROXY_ACL
 crypto map CRYPTO_MAP 10 set peer 192.0.2.1
 crypto map CRYPTO_MAP 10 set ikev2 ipsec-proposal ESP_AES_SHA
 crypto map CRYPTO_MAP interface outside

Note the incomplete entry 5 and the use of the same ACL.
