Known Affected Releases

6.2(2a)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
External routes in OSPF are installed over a NSSA area (instead of backbone area).

Conditions:
In case, there is reachability of OSPF external prefixes in both NSSA area and the backbone area, OSPF will install routes over those prefixes over the NSSA area.

Example topology:

area 0
N7K-1-----------N7k-2--lo1
(ABR) (ABR/ASBR)

    area 1
     nssa

4948-1----------4948-2

The problem only occurs if one of the links between the ABRs is in the backbone
area and another is in a NSSA area. Only releases 6.2.x/7.0.x are affected by this, and prior releases are unaffected.
