Symptom: A high amount of output discards are seen in "show interface ethernet x/y/z" FEX Host Interfaces. 26940307856 output discard These are incrementing very rapidly, 10,000s per second on a connected interface in UP state. This issue can also be seen on ports which are in down state. In some situations discards can also be seen on RX on Parent Nexus switch on FEX-Fabric ports which are equal in value to the amount of output discards seen on FEX Host Interfaces. Conditions: N5K switch running any release of 5.x or 6.x or 7.x. Discards can be seen with any type of FEX model and are seen on host interfaces. In some situations, these host facing Tx discards will translate to RX discards on FEX-fabric NIF ports connecting to parent switch.
