Cisco Bug: CSCuo16083 - Setup crashes if IIS site does not exist or existing site only has HTTPS

Last Modified

Jun 27, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS)

Known Affected Releases

TMSXE4.0

Description (partial)

Symptoms:

The Cisco TMSXE installer crashes and the installation process is aborted.

When running msiexec.exe with verbose logging ("msiexec.exe /i TMSXESetup.msi /l*xv logfile.txt"), you see the following log entries:

WriteIIS7ConfigChanges: Error 0x80070002: Site not found for create application
WriteIIS7ConfigChanges: Error 0x80070002: Failed to configure IIS application.
WriteIIS7ConfigChanges: Error 0x80070002: WriteIIS7ConfigChanges Failed.

Conditions:

Cisco TMSXE assumes two things about an existing Internet Information Services (IIS) when being installed:

* That there is at least one web site defined in IIS, and
* That the web site has a HTTP binding configured.

If either of these is missing, the installer crashes.

Workarounds:

Either:

* Manually create a web site with a HTTP binding, or
* Uninstall IIS, and re-run the Cisco TMSXE installer. TMSXE will then set IIS up with the correct configuration.
