Cisco Bug: CSCuo12051 - ENH: Improve Automatic Cluster Recovery from Interface Failures

Last Modified

Apr 24, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls

Known Affected Releases

9.1(4) 9.3(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When using clustering feature on Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA), Cluster Control Link (CCL) failures lead to the feature being disabled on the given unit until the user re-enables it manually. For data interface failures, the unit will attempt to re-join the cluster automatically after 5, 10, and 20 minutes before disabling itself permanently.

This enhancement request is filed to extend the automatic re-join capabilities to CCL interfaces and make the re-join timers user configurable. Additionally, the enhancement request tracks reducing the interface failure detection timers for Etherchannels from a steady operational state to a configurable setting.

Conditions:
None.
