Cisco Bug: CSCuo08056 - Automatic Sign-In Option Removal for Windows and Mac client

Last Modified

Feb 02, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Jabber for Mac

Known Affected Releases

9.1(0)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
1. Oracle is looking for a way to not to save the passwords for the users because of their security policies, I didn't find any way to disable that option for Jabber for Windows and Mobile clients. Below screenshots, can you please let me know if there is any workaround(registry setting s etc.) to disable it.
2. Can we disable the certificate warning popups from all the Jabber clients and accept any self-signed certificate presented silently without user intervention. Oracle will not be going with the CA signed that means the users have to accept all the self-signed certificates from all the nodes the client connect to.

During the Oracle Security pre-review process, it has been identified that the Cisco Jabber client must allow the ability to prevent users from selecting ?Sign me in when Cisco Jabber starts?, a.k.a. password caching. This is a requirement for all platforms (iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac). There is currently an XML configuration file parameter (<CachePasswordMobile>false</CachePasswordMobile>) available for the mobile OS clients, but not for the desktop OS clients. This capability was also a requirement for our Jabber for Telepresence deployment and was accomplished via installer/registry modifications. Please assist in either identifying a method to disallow password caching, on the desktop clients, or create a Feature Enhancement Request to develop a resolution. Preferred method would be an XML configuration file parameter.
