Cisco Bug: CSCun97029 - USER EXP - XR allows simultaneous HSRP and VRRP config on same interface
Jan 09, 2017
- Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: XR allows an exactly same (same IP addresses , groups etc) VRRP and HSRP config on the same interface. In the the XR architecture (where VRRP and HSRP are separate processes without any knowledge about each other) the process independence prevents cross checks, but this DDTS documents what would be a misconfiguration which would prevent operation. router hsrp interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/0 address-family ipv4 hsrp 1 address 188.8.131.52 ! ! ! ! router vrrp interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/0 address-family ipv4 vrrp 1 version 3 priority 150 preempt delay 1 timer 5 address 184.108.40.206 ! ! address-family ipv6 vrrp 1 priority 150 preempt delay 1 timer 5 address linklocal fe80::1:10 ! ! ! ! end Conditions: VRRP and HSRP configured on the same interface using the same VIP.
