Known Affected Releases
Symptom: A client is unable to save the file. The application (e.g. Excel) returns an error that the file cannot be accessed. Conditions: Client is Windows XP. Location is a roaming user profile on a DFS-R referenced share. Application is Excel (or perhaps some other similar application...though other Office applications don't have this problem).
