Description (partial)

Symptom:
A host OS experiences slowness due to excessive interrupt handling.  

/var/log/messages will record :

Feb 21 01:10:59 linuxhost kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged
Feb 21 01:11:46 linuxhost kernel: CMCI storm detected: switching to poll mode
Feb 21 01:12:16 linuxhost kernel: CMCI storm subsided: switching to interrupt mode
Feb 21 01:12:50 linuxhost kernel: CMCI storm detected: switching to poll mode
Feb 21 01:13:20 linuxhost kernel: CMCI storm subsided: switching to interrupt mode

Conditions:
1. OS has CMCI manually enabled.
2. A DIMM enters a degraded state by experiencing correctable errors.
