Symptom: Configuring command 'nameif' or 'ip address' on an Etherchannel ( device local not spanned ) with members Management0/0 and Management0/1 on ASA5585/5580 running in multicontext transparent firewall mode with clustering enabled ( interface mode spanned ) will give the following errors : ERROR: Only cluster-span port-channel or its sub-interface can be used as data interface when cluster interface-mode is spanned. ERROR: In spanned cluster interface-mode, if interface is not management-only, assigning IP address to this interface is not allowed unless it is a span-cluster port-channel interface or sub-interface of it. Conditions: ASA configured in multiple context mode and clustering enabled. The context on which the interface is configured is in transparent firewall mode.
