Cisco Bug: CSCun48868 - ASA changes to improve CX throughput and prevent unnecessary failovers
Apr 16, 2020
- Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls
Known Affected Releases
100.8(0.1) 9.0(1) 9.1(1)
Symptom: An ASA with a Next-Gen Firewall (CX) Module might experience the following problems when the CX module is inline with the traffic flow. 1) If the ASA is part of a failover pair, it might detect that the CX module is down, which could trigger a failover of the ASAs. This problem might occur intermittently. 2) The performance of connections through the CX module might be degraded. This is noticed most often when performing single-flow TCP throughput testing. Conditions: To encounter this problem, the CX must have a CX module and be passing traffic to the module for inspection.
