Cisco Bug: CSCun47833 - MFIB_mrib_read consumes high CPU after "clear ipv6 pim topology"
Mar 24, 2014
- Cisco IOS
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Under the situation as follows, CPU usage rate raises up to 80% for about 5 sec. - Router has 1,000 (S,G) entry of ipv6 multicast - After executing "clear ipv6 pim topology" Except for ipv6 multicast traffic, there are no packet loss during this behavior. CPU usage raises by the process of "MFIB_mrib_read", which is to handle the reading from mrib to MFIB, and CPU high usage depends on the number of entry. For example, this behavior is not seen in the number of 100 (S,G) entry. Conditions: When a large number (about 1,000) of mfib and mrib update run at the same time like after executing "clear ipv6 pim topology"
