Cisco Bug: CSCun39637 - 512-SIT:- after enabling pw-ether on legacy , fib_mgr traceback is seen
Jan 24, 2019
- Cisco Carrier Routing System
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: The issue happen on a router where we have mix of MSC-X and MSC-140/40 line cards. If the user enable pw-eth on MSC-40/140 cards, we will see tracebacks in MSC-X fib_mgr process. Conditions: As described in symptoms secion, the issue primarily happen when we have routers that has both MSC-X and MSC-40/140. PW-Ether feature is not supported by MSC-X cards. When the user enables PW-Ether on MSC-140/40, certain messages (primarily ingress adjacency related) are send to fib_mgr process on all line cards. MSC-X software is not capable of processing such messages which will result in a traceback message. These messages are harmless and it does not impact any functionality in MSC-X cards. But we may loose some of the debugging information in syslog since these messages are logged every 15 seconds.
