Last Modified

Feb 10, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Computing System

Known Affected Releases

2.2(1b)B

Description (partial)

Symptom:
test setup of two kvm hosts which have shared access (SAN) to a vm.

The vm can be successfully migrated from kvm02 to kvm01 at first. After migration back to kvm02 networking of the vm loses network connectivity and will only continue to work on kvm01.

VM tab on UCS Mgr shows successful migration of VM and mac address being moved to required host, however mac address disappears from Fabric Interconnect's mac table

attached webex recording shows following

1. when VM is present on blade 1/2 it works
2. when VM is vMotioned to blade 1/1 the ping still works. (timestamp 4:17 onwards)
3. However when 2nd vMotion happens that's when ping fails, (timestamp 4:57)

Conditions:
VM loses network connectivity
