Last Modified

Known Affected Releases

8.6(1.2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
If the user selects that archive server is some non-MP server (some Linux machine); then the ownership of the files/directories that are archived is changed when those files/directories are copied over to archive server. Because that server does not have users like mpxapp, mpxadmin, mpxtomcat etc. ownership and hence, cannot be preserved.

So when the restore of archived files/directories is performed, our restore script (run as root) copies back those files/directories to the system and hence, gives them the root:root ownership.
This can cause some issues, for example with the recorded user profiles.

Conditions:
3rd party (non-MP) archive server
