Last Modified

Feb 12, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Computing System

Known Affected Releases

1.4(3q)A

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Upgrading from 1.4(3) directly to 2.1(2) using host firmware package, the blade discovery will fail with various errors. Most commonly they will show "no connection to MC endpoint" and fail at 4%.

This large jump in versions may cause I2C MUX contention issues. This contention will cause the CIMC/BMC to boot slowly.

Conditions:
Upgrade from 1.4(3) to 2.1(2) directly using host firmware package. Experienced issues on B230 M2 and B200 M2.

Customer had 20 chassis attached to the Fabric Interconnects.
