Cisco Bug: CSCun17212 - AnyConnect for Android not utilizing assigned IPv6 address

Last Modified

Mar 04, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client

Known Affected Releases

3.0(9156) 3.0(9242) 3.0(9269)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
With AnyConnect ICS+ running and VPN formed using 6in4 tunnel, it only sends DNS query for A-record thus IPv4 assigned address is used for HTTP because A-record is returned accordingly. Some platforms (e.g. Kindle) may send DNS query for AAAA-record in addition to A-record but still HTTP is never initiated using IPv6 assigned address even when AAAA-record is returned.

Conditions:
Running AnyConnect client for Android 4.x under IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel.
