Cisco Bug: CSCun16129 - Translate subjects from base64 to human readable format for export

Last Modified

Dec 09, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco Email Security Appliance

Known Affected Releases

1.1.0-001 2.9.1-000

Description (partial)

Symptom:
1. What product(s) do you want this change to affect? All ESA and SMA appliances
2. What version of the product (AsyncOS, PostX, IEA, plug-in, etc) are you currently using?: 7.6
3. Please describe how the current limitation(s) impact your business.
Need to spend a crazy amount of time to decode subject lines from message tracking reports. I could not find a way to do in excel, and using 3party apps to load a file did not work either. I had 900 of them done one by one manually... NOT FUN
4. Describe how the system's behavior could change or be enhanced to facilitate your business needs.
Before exporting to CSV, have Ironport decode base64 encoded subject lines.
5. If you have a particular vision for how this would be implemented in the user interface, please outline that.
Yes completely invisible to the end user.
6. Feel free to leave any additional comments below.
It would also be nice if in messagetracking it would support more than 1000 events to be exported.

Conditions:
When exporting message tracking currently all subjects that are base64 encoded remain that way
