Description (partial)

Symptom:
Jabber does not see presence of a federated contact unless the contact is added in the contact list. This is currently by design in IM and Presence, but this causes inconsistency in user experience. For example, user searches a federated contact (no presence), then user starts IM with the federated contact, the Presence still does not show until  the federated contact is added

Conditions:
Jabber is trying to get presence for a federated contact (i.e. OCS or Microsoft Lync)

Hi , I have setup Intradoman and interdomain federation with Lync which seems to be fine.However I have an operational issue with Jabber that I wanted to see if it was standard or something was wrong.
