Cisco Bug: CSCun08102 - stp_io process crash @stp_io_db_chkpt_port_delete during config rollback

Last Modified

Sep 22, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

4.0.0.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The stp_io process abnormally restarts during a config rollback operation, or after router communications outage.

Conditions:
Repeated configuring and unconfiguring of MSTP instances on different bundle interfaces results in stale database entries being created on the standby RP. If, after a switchover, a resync of the stp-io database is triggered, stp-io may crash as a result of these stale entries.

This is only seen with x86-based RSPs when MSTP is used over bundle interfaces.
