Cisco Bug: CSCun00672 - SNMP Timeout reported as 3000000 (833 hours) mate_access_test

Last Modified

Oct 16, 2014

Products (1)

  • Cisco MATE Collector

Known Affected Releases

5.4.1 5.6

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Suspect this may cause issues with 5.6 collector to get hung when nodes do not allow SNMP access or SNMP strings are not defined via UI or net_access.txt file

Conditions:
When providers do not want to allow SNMP info some ABR /nodes by design or were missed. They ie customer or tech resource may not have identified all the SNMP nodes which cannot be discovered, yet they are discovered via the seed router / IGP database and then as the collector walks the node list. You may get stuck with some nodes.

In 5.4 version we had SNMP_max_timeout =3, but in 5.6 this does not exsit.

[cariden54@cariden158 ~]$ cat /opt/cariden541/etc/net_access.txt | grep SNMP_max_timeout
Normal SNMP_max_timeout 3
