Cisco Bug: CSCum98726 - Secure Voice Mail Ports - Doc to Mention callmanager-trust cert needed

Last Modified

May 04, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)

Known Affected Releases

9.0(2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When configuring secure voice mail ports between Unity/Unity Connection and CUCM, the docs fail to specifically mention which the type of certificate the Unity/UC root cert should be uploaded as to CUCM.

The link in question is here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/security/9_0_1/secugd/CUCM_BK_CCB00C40_00_cucm-security-guide_chapter_01111.html

The section:
"In addition to the procedures that are described in this chapter, you must use the certificate management feature in Cisco Unified Communications Operating System to save the Cisco Unity certificate to the trusted store. For more information on this task, refer to the Cisco Unified Communications Operating System Administration Guide. After you copy the certificate, you must restart the Cisco CallManager service on each Cisco Unified Communications Manager server in the cluster."

It should provide some guidance that the root certificate from Unity/UC should be uploaded as a callmanager-trust type on CUCM. This isn't covered anywhere in the "Cisco Unified Communications Operating System Administration Guide" that it refers you to.

Conditions:
Unity/UC with secure voicemail ports to CUCM
