Cisco Bug: CSCum87232 - Imperial: Supercap pack energy is below design capacity

Last Modified

Nov 12, 2015

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Computing System

Known Affected Releases

1.5(5.21)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
CIMC storage BBU info shows the Pack Energy value below the design capacity. This is also seen in the "storcli /cX /cv show all" command

On the current shipping 6G SAS RAID Controllers with Supercap, the Pack energy is always above the design capacity

This is a change in behavior confuses the user and makes the user think the supercap has or is going bad and gets a worrisome situation of the data integrity

Conditions:
This, from LSI, is due to a change in the TFM FW and TFM VPD due to an architecture change in Supercap handling where-in the FW uses relative values for voltages instead of fixed absolute values
