Description (partial)

Symptom:
Running a supportrequest or doing a grep command, may fail to execute with a /dev/null error.  Ex "cannot create /dev/null: Permission denied"

Conditions:
The permissions on /dev/null can get overwritten, which causes supportrequest and grep commands to fail.
