Last Modified

May 08, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

Description (partial)

Symptom:
variables support in RPL will help marking in a policy execution path and write conditions based on the execution path.

Example policy:
route-policy child1
  var globalVar1 100
 ... actions...
end-policy
!
route-policy child2
  var globalVar2 200
 ... actions ..
end-policy
!

route-policy inbound
if community-matches internal_set then
apply child1
endif
if community matches service2 then
  apply child2
endif
  if globalVar1 is 100 and globalVar2 is 200 then
    set local-preference 181
  endif
end-policy

Conditions:
RPL

Replace ASN bytes in BGP community
Hello!   Does IOS XR allow to edit community received from external BGP neighbor? What I want to do is to replace community ASN1:NN to ASN2:NN, keeping the last 2 bytes. Reading http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k_r5-1/routing/configuration/guide/b_routing_cg51xasr9k/b_routing_cg51xasr9k_chapter_01001.html didn't help a lot, maybe I'm missing something.   Thank you, Erik
