Products (2)

  • Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch

Known Affected Releases

4.2(1)SV2(2.0.401) 4.2(1)SV2(2.1a)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When IPv6 is used as payload with the Nexus 1000v running 4.2(1)SV2(2.1a), decap of a L2 multicast failing when the decapsulating vmk is pinned to a non DR port

Conditions:
- This applies only with IPv6 as a payload and does not apply for IPv4
- Decapsulation problem happens only when the decapsulating vmk is pinned to a non DR port
	- This can be checked from the commands 'vemcmd show port' and 'vemcmd show pc'
		- Look for the pinned vmnic and see if it has a * in 'vemcmd show pc'
	- 'vemcmd show vxlan-stats ltl <vmk_ltl>' would show an increase in 'Pinning Failed on Decap' counter
