Cisco Bug: CSCum49070 - E-LMI batch start messages flood CFM's slow trace buffer

Last Modified

Aug 01, 2018

Products (1)

  • Cisco Carrier Routing System

Known Affected Releases

4.2.3.CE

Description (partial)

Symptom:

This issue has no functional impact, but affects ability to debug the cfmd process.

When debugging using the 'show ethernet cfm trace' command, the trace buffer for the cfmd process is flooded with "Starting a batch of E-LMI updates" messages.

Conditions:

This issue affects IOS XR releases from 4.2.3 until 5.1.2. The flooding only occurs if the content of received CCMs is regularly changing, or at least appears to change. This can be checked with 'debug ethernet cfm packets hexdump' or wireshark.
