Cisco Bug: CSCum44282 - Jabber for iPhone - Wrong description for LDAP Authentication settings

Last Modified

Mar 12, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco Jabber for iPhone

Known Affected Releases

9.1(5)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
In the Jabber Voice for iPhone 9.1.5 Admin Guide, the section for LDAP settings has a description of:
"Use LDAP to integrate corporate photos. For more information, see Integrate Corporate Directory Photos from an LDAP Server."

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/iPhone/9_1/JABI_BK_J51A3498_00_jabber-voice-iphone-admin-guide-9-1-5_chapter_010.html#JABI_TK_A333B626_00

But these settings are not used only for Directory Photos. They are used for general LDAP Directory lookup, incoming calling name display, etc. The text is misleading and makes the user believe that settings for directory lookup are stored somewhere else.
