Cisco Bug: CSCum35852 - UCS needs to generate error if invalid call home recipient
Feb 26, 2018
- Cisco Unified Computing System
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Call home messages and inventories will not be sent to profiles that contain even a single recipient that is not a valid user on the SMTP server/relay, even when other addresses are valid. There is no error message in UCS logged indicating why call home alerts or inventories are not sent when this occurs and customers simply see this as call home stopped working with no guidance as to why it stopped working or does not work. Conditions: UCS with call home correctly configured except that in a profile there is at least a single invalid email recipient (for example, a user leaves the company and is no longer a valid entry on SMTP server, or a user is entered with a simple mistype in UCS, but would make that recipient an invalid user on SMTP server).
