Cisco Bug: CSCum23092 - RFC 5549: Prefixe with v6 NH being advertised as Martian NH to v4 Peers

Last Modified

Jan 31, 2017

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

6.2(6.9)FB(0.2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
We can see that we are advertising a Martian NH to IPv4 Peers if the Best path selected is a path with IPv6 NH.

Conditions:
Same prefix is received from a v4 peer and a v6 peer. But the best path selected is a v6 NH.
When the v4 prefix is received from 2 EBGP neighbors one is a v6 neighbor and the other is a v4 neighbor.
It advertises a Martian IP address as NH to a v4 iBGP peer.
