Cisco Bug: CSCum15731 - AP client-id should have a default value amongst all APs

Last Modified

Jul 16, 2019

Products (1)

  • Cisco Aironet 3700 Series Access Points

Known Affected Releases

15.2(2)JB2

Description (partial)

Symptom:
An AP can be configure to get ip address via DHCP and one can use the client-id to assign a certain IP address based on client-id.
Now the client-id is not a fix value and its free as long as it is unique.
Even though this is a configurable option with interface command "ip address dhcp client-id ...", we should have a client-id format by default like 01+mac address or simply the mac address.

Conditions:
NA.
