Cisco Bug: CSCum14732 - Prefix with Different RNH but same NH being deleted in RIB

Last Modified

Jan 22, 2014

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

6.2(5.15)ES(0.19)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
This only applies to route/path with v6 next hop.
When BGP attempts to update a route/path in RIB with a different RNH but is resolved by BGP using the same next hop, the route in RIB will be unexpectedly deleted. A 'clear ip route <prefix>' or 'restart bgp' will recover the missing route.

Conditions:
This happens in multi-hop and/or ebgp/ibgp scenarios where the remote ebgp nexthop will be passed to ibgp peers. When ebgp nexthop changes, update will be sent to the ibgp peers.
