Cisco Bug: CSCum03347 - CSM: Deployment Validation Fails if ASA nameif Contains "(" or ")" Chars

Last Modified

Nov 10, 2016

Products (1)

  • Cisco Security Manager

Known Affected Releases

4.4(0)SP2 4.5(0)FCS1 4.5(0)SP0(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When attempting to deploy from CSM (Cisco Security Manager) to one (1) or more managed ASA firewall devices, deployment validation fails with errors such as:

"Interface roles (<INTERFACE_NAME>) do not define on device"

This happens despite the Interface Name displayed in the error(s) being defined (and having been accepted/saved by CSM).

Additionally, Interface Roles' 'Interface Name Patterns:' value will not match the Interface Name (if the Interface Name is specified completely/explicitly (i.e. not via wildcard match)).

Conditions:
Interface Name(s) in-question contains one (1) or more parenthesis "(" or ")" characters. Example:

 nameif DMZ(Wireless-VPN)

And, Interface or Interface Role in-question referenced by a Static Route.
