Cisco Bug: CSCum00691 - multipath between vfc and fc links not working

Last Modified

Dec 08, 2014

Products (1)

  • Cisco MDS 9000 Series Multilayer Switches

Known Affected Releases

6.2(7)FM(0.33)

Description (partial)

This is a F16 ASIC limitation

Symptom:
With both fc and fcoe links with same cost (ECMP entries) between 2 switches, traffic doesnt flow.

Conditions:
F16 cannot support FC and FCoE adjacencies in the same multipath when vlan-vsan mapping is not one-to-one. The re-write memory is only one per route and not one per adjacency. This implies that VSAN translation is common for all adjacencies of the route. Hence if VLAN-VSAN translation is not one to one, we cannot support FC and FCoE in the same ECMP set.
