Cisco Bug: CSCum00334 - UCCX: CAD Agent Email Client Logging Disabled By Default

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Contact Center Express

Known Affected Releases

10.0(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Client-side logging for Cisco Agent Desktop (CAD) Agent Email (EemUi*.log) is disabled by default. If the logging is enabled, a Java security warning appears each time CAD is started and the Agent Email is loaded in the Integrated Browser.

Conditions:
Client-side logging was disabled because of a Java security fix made in JRE 1.7.45. The JRE now has additional security checks on web start application startup. Java incorrectly thinks that the accessing of component jar manifest files is an insecure action and produces a warning the user must acknowledge before proceeding. The manifest files must be accessed in order for the EemUi logging subsystem to be initialized.

It was determined to eliminate the client-side logging by default instead of prompting the user to proceed through the Java warning each time Agent Email is started.
